Bollywood Movies: Castle in the Air!
27th January 2008, marked the beginning of a new era for the girls of DAULATPUR (BARABANKI). This day Aishwariya Bachchan laid the foundation of the Shrimati Aishwarya Bachchan Girls’ Degree College. The event was graced by United National Progress Alliance (UNPA) leaders along with the entire Bachchan family. Amitabh’s wife Jaya, son Abhishek and his wife Aishwarya were all present among 15,000 strong crowds. The ceremony was viewed by former Chief Ministers Mulayam Singh (Uttar Pradesh); Chandrababu Naidu (Andhra Pradesh); Farooq Abdullah (Jammu and Kashmir); and Om Prakash Chautala (Haryana). It seems like people from all the nook and corner of the area were present there to grace the occasion.

In a very conscious manner the Bachchan “bahu” thanked the people of UP. Beside, the havoc created by the people news that rocked the town recently was about Samajwadi Party's general secretary Amar Singh’s new home in Lucknow. The uniqueness of this bungalow is that it is named after Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Well, only Amar Singh can tell whether he named his bungalow after the Goddess or after his friend’s daughter-in-law Aishwariya Bachchan, who is also a renowned actress. Whatever the case be but such is the magic of Bollywood I must admit!

Today, people swear by the names of the film actors and actress. The craze of films could be seen mostly in the youngsters. Just to share my little experience, it was the summer of 99 when me and some of my friends were coming back home after our Maths tuition. It was late in the evening and we all were tired to the extreme. Suddenly one of my friends with sheer excitement uttered her prized words. To our shock and dismay it was the movie “Jurassic Park” that was released just the day before. Somehow we managed to pool in whatever money we had and went for the movie. I still remember that day when we were counting our money penny by penny. Guess this is what you call the typical craze of Bollywood movies especially among the youngsters.
